What You Can Do: Stop Judges From Rewriting Our Laws
Across the state activist judges are going far beyond their legal authority to impose their own agendas. Whether it’s blocking the repeal of the new natural gas ban, shielding illegal school strikes, or cutting criminals loose without bail—time and again, judges are making political decisions and circumventing the will of the people and putting our communities at risk.
That’s why we need judges who will interpret the law, not rewrite it. And that’s exactly what Full Court Press was created to do.
Launched a year ago, Full Court Press is a local, nonprofit organization building the pipeline of sensible judicial candidates across our state. In just its first year, the program:
- Recruited and trained seven judicial candidates, four of whom won their elections and are now sitting on the bench.
- Built a specialized training program covering fundraising, campaigning, and voter outreach unique to judicial races.
- Brought together statewide networks of legal professionals, community leaders, and supporters committed to restoring balance to Washington’s courts.
Looking ahead, Full Court Press plans to expand—recruiting 10–20 candidates in the next election cycle and developing a first of its kind judicial scorecard to educate voters so they can hold activist judges accountable.
