Snohomish County Delivered: 60+ New Leaders Elected & $1,000 Tax Hike Defeated!

2025 SNOHOMISH COUNTY ELECTION RESULTS

Future 42 Snohomish County, in conjunction with League of Our Own WA, recruited and/or trained 90+ male and female candidates for local office in Snohomish County this year. If current results hold, at least 60 of those candidates will have won their General Election race. A recap is below.

• In the City of Snohomish, challenger Aaron Hoffman defeated progressive incumbent Mayor Linda Redmon, and challengers Anup Deol and Gabe Jacobs defeated progressive incumbent Councilmembers Karen Guzak and Bill Webster.
• A supermajority (11/15) was elected to the Snohomish County Charter Review Commission. This Commission will meet in 2026 to review the county’s governing document and propose potential changes for voters to consider.
• Scandal-ridden Josh Binda was handily defeated in his re-election bid for the Lynnwood City Council by challenger Bryce Owings. Future 42 published and mailed local scorecards earlier this year highlighting key votes taken by Lynnwood City Councilmembers, including Josh Binda.
• Small business owner Erika Barnett was elected to the tax-happy Edmonds City Council and will add an additional voice of reason to the minority council members there. Glenda Krull, who ran a very effective campaign, was defeated by incumbent Chris Eck. This year we worked to inform the community of key votes taken by Edmonds City Councilmembers.
• The City of Edmonds’ property tax levy lid lift (which would have cost an additional $1,000 per household) was crushed by 18 percentage points. Voters previously approved a Regional Fire Authority (RFA) annexation which added a separate $1,000 average property tax increase per household. Future 42 has been advocating against tax increases in the City of Edmonds all year and this was a resounding mandate from the voters.
