Future 42 Launches Pierce County Project

Pierce County, WA — Future 42 is expanding its county-based civic engagement work to its fourth county in the state, Pierce County, with Dr. Philip Lindholm serving as Project Director. The new project will help residents follow the local decisions that shape their lives and provide practical ways to participate before those decisions by city and county councils are final.

“Future 42 Pierce County will help identify the issues that matter, explain what is being proposed, and give people a constructive opportunity to weigh in,” said Lindholm. “The goal is not more noise, but more accountability and better information.”

Lindholm is a veteran, mediator, and Lakewood City Councilmember who has worked across civic, military, nonprofit, educational, and professional settings in the region. As Pierce County Project Director, he will lead Future 42’s civic work across the county.

Future 42 Pierce County will monitor major county and municipal policy decisions, publish research and annual local government scorecards, send timely action alerts, host community briefings and events, and connect residents with opportunities to engage their elected officials. The project will focus on issues with a direct effect on Pierce County communities, including public safety, housing and affordability, economic opportunity, taxes and spending, and effective government.

Its first project, coming next week, will be an annual legislative scorecard reviewing the 2026 legislative session and key votes taken by lawmakers representing districts in Pierce County.
