Everett Transit pulling the plug on electric buses after finding they don’t work

The City of Everett recently announced it is pulling the plug on nearly half the fleet of electric buses which it paid over $9 million in taxpayer dollars for in 2017 and 2019 (these purchases were unanimously approved by the City Council.) The City Council recently approved $2.1 million in additional taxpayer dollars towards purchasing new diesel-hybrid buses as replacements for the electric buses which are now out of commission.
