3 Tax Hikes. Zero Notice. Speak Out by 5:30 PM TODAY!

With barely any notice, Olympia has introduced three massive tax increases—and scheduled a public hearing for TODAY at 5:30 PM. They’re hoping you won’t see it coming.

But our community is strong, and together we can stop them! Just yesterday, hundreds rallied on the Capitol steps to protest property tax hikes. Now today, we must sign in and oppose these bills so our lawmakers can’t ignore us!

Here’s what they’re trying to rush through:

🔺 SB 5812 – Major Property Tax Increase
Triples the cap on annual property tax growth—from 1% to 3%—threatening homeowners, renters, and fixed-income seniors.

🏛️ SB 5813 – Estate Tax Increase & Expansion
Raises death tax rates and adds an additional 2.9% tax to capital gains over $1 million. This would worsen wealth flight and force more families to sell off long-held family assets, like farms, small businesses, and real estate.

📉 SB 5815 – Business & Occupation (B&O) Tax Hike
One of Washington’s most burdensome business tax is about to get worse. This gross receipts tax punishes businesses regardless of profit—and raising it will hurt job creation, small businesses, and the economy.

But new polling reveals Washingtonians don’t want this.

🛑 65% of voters say state government spends too much
🏡 61% oppose raising property taxes
📉 And only 30% believe the state is spending tax money efficiently

So let’s make sure our lawmakers officially hear us loud and clear, and oppose these bills now!
