Snohomish County: Significant property tax hikes to be decided in August 6th Primary Election

This year’s Snohomish County Primary Election on August 6th presents an opportunity for voters to weigh in on multiple tax increase proposals in various areas of the county. Ballots will be mailed on July 18th and the last day to return your ballot is August 6th.

A ballot measure to expand the boundaries of the Port of Everett’s jurisdiction countywide (with the exception of the Port of Edmonds) will be included on the ballot of all voters who do not currently reside within a Port District. If approved, Port of Everett Proposition No. 1 would create a new property tax burden countywide in addition to existing local and state property taxes.

City of Everett voters will make a decision on City of Everett Proposition No. 1, which would authorize a levy lid lift to address the City’s budget deficit. If approved, Everett residents would face a 44% city property tax hike. The ballot measure seeks to fund existing city services and does not include any additional services with the tax increase.

With excessive inflation and an already existing property tax burden, now is not the time to raise taxes on hardworking families and individuals throughout Snohomish County.

VOTE TO REJECT THESE PROPERTY TAX HIKES BY COMPLETING YOUR PRIMARY ELECTION BALLOT AND RETURNING IT BEFORE ELECTION DAY ON AUGUST 6TH.
