2026 Washington State Legislative Scorecard

2026 Washington State Legislative Scorecard

FUTURE 42 is releasing our second annual comprehensive scorecard highlighting key votes taken by all 147 legislators during the 2026 legislative session. This information is critical in order to ensure that Washingtonians are informed on bills which were passed, how those bills will impact their lives, and how their elected state legislators voted on those bills.

The 2026 Washington State legislative session included debate and action on a number of key bills which will affect the daily lives of Washingtonians. This year was a “short session” of 60 days and included the passage of an unconstitutional income tax in addition to a number of other tax and policy bills. While there were approximately 600 bills proposed during the legislative session, this Future 42 legislative scorecard focuses on the 15 bills/amendments which are most consequential and that received a floor vote in at least one chamber.

Bills that raise the tax burden on Washingtonians, make our state less safe, or increase the regulatory framework are scored negatively, while bills that provide tax relief, increase public safety, or remove unnecessary regulations are scored positively.

Governor Bob Ferguson signed each piece of legislation featured in this scorecard into law except for the ones that did not reach his desk, which were SB 5360, HB 1574, and two separate amendments to SB 6346, the income tax bill.

Below, you will find a description of each individual bill/amendment. In addition, you will find a full matrix detailing how your State Senators and Representatives voted on these bills/amendments and whether or not their votes aligned with Future 42’s position, which is based on our mission statement.

We hope this legislative scorecard will help to better inform residents and shed light on which legislators have voted in favor/opposition of taxes, public safety, and regulations.

Please share this scorecard and help your neighbors learn more about what your elected officials are standing for in Olympia.
